60年代前基隆港一直是臺灣最大的港口，日據時期，基隆貿易量甚至占了全台灣貿易總額的一半。

而今，這個為台灣GDP貢獻良多的基隆，不僅環境髒亂，交通危險，施政評比更是墊底，
現在，教育也被評為全國最後一名
連馬祖、澎湖都比不上
這樣的結果⋯⋯
不是基隆人不夠努力
也不是基隆人沒有繳稅
而是朝政嬴弱、官員違法亂紀、政策失衡的結果

基隆人不是次等公民
基隆人也不要求極致
基隆人只希望父母官有擔當，
做足準備，擬定好計畫，努力開拓
不一定要拿全國第一
只少要讓我們能夠驕傲地說
我是基隆人，我住在基隆
